FAQs

Are binoculars included?

Yes! We also can teach you how to use them. All we ask is that you return them to us before we part ways :)

What if it rains?

Bird watching is a weather-dependent activity. A light mist won’t stop the birds, and if you have the appropriate gear, it doesn’t have to stop us either! However, if the forecast is calling for inclement weather, we will work with you to reschedule your tour or provide a full refund.

What do I bring?

Dress for the outdoors and for the weather. Pants and high socks are highly recommended, as well as a brimmed hat and long sleeves in case the bugs are out. Additionally, you are encouraged to pack water, bug spray, and an assortment of lunch-box style snacks such as fruit, trail mix, granola bars, sandwiches, etc.

Where do the tours take place?

We offer year-round guided walking tours in public parks across Northampton County. We also make home visits if you would like to learn where and how to birdwatch on your private property.

What if we don’t see any birds?

The chances of not seeing ANY birds are highly unlikely; however, we cannot control nature, and there are certain times of day when bird activity decreases. For this reason, we highly encourage you to book an early morning tour when birds are the most active. That being said, regardless of whether or not the birds are out, you will still gain valuable knowledge about bird species, bird behavior, bird identification strategies, native plants, and coastal habitats. We are confident that if you enjoy spending time outdoors, you will have an unforgettable experience.

Where do we meet?

After a brief consultation over the phone or over email and designing your tour together, we will let you know where to meet us. (Spoiler alert, it’s the parking lot!)
